Dark Love

                                        sonnet CXLVII

My love is as a fever, longing still                              Il mio amore è come una febbre, sempre avida
For that which longer nurseth the disease;                 di quel che ancor più aumenta il suo malessere,
Feeding on that which doth preserve the ill,               e che si nutre di quanto mantiene il suo morbo,
The uncertain sickly appetite to please.                      pur di soddisfare la sua fame insana.
My reason, the physician to my love,                         La ragione, medico del mio amore, furente
Angry that his prescriptions are not kept,                   perché le sue prescrizioni son trascurate,
Hath left me, and I desperate now approve                mi ha lasciato e, disperato, mi rendo conto
Desire is death, which physic did except.                  che il desiderio che medicina combatteva è morte.
Past cure I am,                                                            Sono un caso disperato,
now reason is past care,                                              abbandonato dalla ragione,
And frantic-mad with evermore unrest;                     furiosamente pazzo per le mie continue smanie;
My thoughts and my discourse as madmen's are,      ho pensieri e parole da mentecatto,
At random from the truth vainly expressed.              e vaneggio ben lungi dalla verità.
For I have sworn thee fair,                                         Perché t'ho giurata pura
and thought thee bright,                                             e t'ho pensata bella,
Who art as black as hell, as dark as night.                 tu, nera come l'inferno, e come la notte scura.

                                        (William Shakespeare)

".. E  VANEGGIO  BEN  LUNGI  DALLA VERITA'.
PERCHE'  T 'HO  GIURATO  PURO  E  T 'HO  PENSATO  BELLO,
TU,  NERO  COME  L'INFERNO,  E  COME  LA  NOTTE  SCURA."
